The only other way to accomplish this would be to contact the hard drive mananufacturer and find out what the proper procedure would be to change the write cache on the hard drive. ![]() This is because not all drives have Non-Volatile Random Access Memory (NVRAM) area to allow the enable or disable and save the cache setting. They will report that the write cache is back to the original setting after the computer is restarted. Some hard disks do not support the option to enable or disable the write cache on a permanent basis.
